Easter Eve 16 April 2022

Easter Eve Ceremonies will begin at 8.00pm with the Lighting of the new fire outside the church

Holy Saturday is a day of bereavement and emptiness until the evening.  The Easter Vigil which marks the end of the emptiness of Holy Saturday and leads to the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.  The singing of the Exsultet, the ancient hymn of triumph and rejoicing, links this night of our redemption to the Passover night of Israel’s redemption out of Egypt.
