St George’s is open every day. Preserving this beautiful building for the community, heating it during the winter and supporting the wide-ranging ministry and distinctive worship of St George’s requires strong financial support.
While we are blessed in many ways, our regular costs exceed our regular income. The best way to help is to join our regular Planned Giving scheme – contact us for details.
St George’s also has a sponsorship scheme, under which you can target an individual gift to help meet some of our costs.
There are a number of ways to give to St. George’s.
Regular Planned Giving
Regular giving by envelope or standing order is an easy way to give and helps the church with its planning. If you would like to know more about Planned Giving, please contact Nick Startup, via the church office. If you use internet banking you can set up regular giving yourself or use the donation button below.
You can give by cheque (made payable to St. George’s PCC) or you can make a one-off bank transfer directly to St. George’s bank account email the office for details).
Giving in the Sunday collections
We have collections at all of our services. If you’re a UK taxpayer and give in this way, please complete a gift aid envelope that can be found at the pew.
Some employers will match your giving to charities. Give as You Earn is often administered by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). St. George’s CAF reference number is 629634.
Sponsor St George’s Church
Pick up a sponsorship form in church or contact the church office if you would like to offer:
The gift of welcome:
Why not sponsor the cost of the church cleaning for a week or a month, in thanks for an anniversary or in memory of a loved one?
The gift of ceremony:
Help with the cost of altar candles, Easter and Christmas candles, baptismal candles, palm crosses…
The gift of music:
Help with the cost of choir music, the running costs of the Junior Choir, helping to keep the pianos and organ in tune…
Gift Aid is a simple and effective way to boost your giving. If you are a UK taxpayer, using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, St George’s will currently receive an extra 25 pence in tax relief from our friends at Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. If you can, Gift Aid it!
