Prayer at the inauguration of President Joe Biden as 46th President of the United States of America

Almighty and eternal God,
you have revealed your glory to all nations.
God of power and might, wisdom and justice,
through you authority is rightly administered,
laws are enacted, and judgment is decreed:
assist with your spirit of counsel and fortitude
Joe Biden, being inaugurated today
as President of the United States.
May his administration be conducted in righteousness,
and may he serve with humility the people over whom he presides.
May he encourage due respect for virtue and religion,
execute the laws with justice and mercy,
seek to restrain crime, vice, and immorality,
draw the people together in unity
and work with other leaders
to increase peace and understanding throughout the world.
