A call to prayer for the Nation – November 2020

We call upon the Church of England to make November 2020 a month of prayer for our nation. We know that we are in the faithful hands of the risen Christ who knows our weaknesses, tiredness and struggles and whose steadfast love endures forever.

On Wednesday 4 November, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York and Bishop of London called the Church of England to prayer for the nation throughout the month of November.

See link to the Church of England prayer resources for this month.

Prayer from St George’s……..

O God, the source of all goodness and compassion:
fill our hearts with your love,
that with calmness we may gracefully accept
the restrictions imposed for our well-being.
Be near us in our time of anxiety;
sustain us by your grace, that our courage may not fail.
May we always trust in you and know that we are held in your strong arms.
Support and strengthen all those who reach out
in love and concern for the sick
and distressed.
In their acts of compassion,
may they remain strong;
in their concerns and fears
may they continue to feel the support of the community
and in your love grant us all peace.
Amen
