Remembrance 2023

The poppies in the external display over the lychgate have been lovingly crafted by members of
St George’s congregation and crafters from Beckenham, Penge, Croydon, Longfield Kent, Redding California, West Wickham and Catford, Australia and New Zealand.

This display began as a “wouldn’t it be nice” chat in 2022 and with the help of many wonderful people in the community, it came together in time for Remembrance 2022 and more poppies have been added during 2023.

“When you go home tell them of us and say,
for your tomorrow we gave our today.”
