St George’s guided history tours during July and August 2021
St George’s Guided Tours are back for Summer 2021.
Popular for many years, these short introductory tours give a flavour of some of the fascinating aspects of local history. Here in Beckenham we are lucky to have a wonderful resource in the Parish Church. On this site has stood a place of worship for about one thousand years and the village of Beckenham has developed around it.
Come and experience a taste of the history, development and families of the area. Enjoy the beauty of the building and its stained glass. Investigate the church yard, the gravestones and wild life.

The tours are categorised as follows:
A – An introduction to the history of the church and some of its monuments.
B – A comparison of the Victorian windows with the modern windows.
C – Story in stained glass.
