Love in the Time of Coronavirus
Dear Friends
Public worship in the Church of England has been put on hold to help stem the spread of coronavirus. In a joint letter, Archbishops Justin Welby and John Sentamu are calling upon us to face this challenge by becoming a, ‘radically different kind of church’, rooted in prayer and loving service to others as well as ourselves.
St George’s Church will remain open for private prayer each day, as noted below. Our Clergy and Ministers will, as usual, be saying Daily Prayer in the morning at 8.00am, at noon and at 5.30pm. Of necessity, these services will not be open to the general public, however, you can join in prayer with us from home, work or wherever you happen to be at these times, using the link to the texts below. A priest will hold a Eucharistic Service on Sunday Mornings, before the church is opened to the public.
Please be assured of my love and prayers for yourself, our community and all affected by illness and anxiety in the days ahead.
Yours in Christ
Fr Jeremy
